A little about us…

The Harugari is a German-American family and cultural society with a long and proud history. We promote and preserve the customs of our founding members through song, dance, good food and friendship. As is the tradition, German culture, past and present, is forged from a mixture of hard work and hard play that keeps everyone’s spirits high.

The name Harugari comes from the old Germanic word “Haruc,” translated roughly to mean “the Teutonic spirit (or priest) of the oak tree.” Therefore, it is a meeting place symbolized by the majestic oak trees that reminds us of the spirit of our founders.

During the Bierfest in July 2023, we unveiled Joe Eckner’s Biergarten, located in the Albert Walz Pavilion. The clubhouse, outdoor pavilion and our beautiful grounds provide families, friends and guests with places to meet. We invite everyone to join and attend our gatherings and enjoy our unique cultural experience.
